Selected by popular vote by community members, the award is granted to one nonprofit organization.
La Crescent Animal Rescue
La Crescent, MN
$10,000 would go toward a feasibility study to help us look at building or buying a new building where we can provide better care to more animals. This is the long-term strategic plan and biggest goal of the organization. The feasibility study costs $32,000 and sets us up for success in fulfilling our goal.

Selected by past BLCA recipients, the award is granted to one nonprofit organization.
GROW La Crosse
La Crosse, WI
An award of this amount would provide lessons and garden maintenance for eight classes for an entire year. Additionally, these funds would be used to develop curriculum for expanding our greenhouse and farm field trip programs to further our reach to early childhood and middle school students. Our field trip programs have grown over the past three years, doubling participation in each of those years since launching our greenhouse programming.

Selected by popular vote by Altra employees, the award is granted to one nonprofit organization in each of Altra’s core community states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Texas.
