Altra Federal Credit Union Promotes Mike Nickel to Executive Vice-President, Chief Lending Officer!

Altra Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Nickel from Senior Vice President of Lending to Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer.

Mike has worked for Altra Federal Credit Union since 2004. “Under Mike’s leadership, our talented lending teams set a new record in loan volume in 2020 at just over $1.6 Billion,” said Steve Koenen, President/CEO of Altra Federal Credit Union. “His extensive lending experience and industry knowledge will continue to help drive innovations and member experience initiatives within our lending areas and the credit union as a whole.”

Mike brings over 40 years of lending management experience, 17 of those years at Altra. He is a Rotarian and member of the La Crosse Chamber of Commerce. He obtained his MBA from Viterbo University and his BS degree in Agricultural Economics and Math from UW – River Falls. He currently resides in La Crosse with his wife. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
