Josh has worked for Altra Federal Credit Union since 2016. Prior to joining Altra as CIO, Josh held multiple leadership roles with Kaplan, a leading global educator, most recently as VP of Information Security & Compliance. Prior to joining Kaplan, Josh worked in the Information Systems department at Gundersen Health System, where he got his start in the field of technology. Josh’s career in the fields of Information Technology and Cybersecurity now spans over 20 years working across multiple sectors in healthcare, education, and financial services. His professional passions include advancing innovation, helping others grow and succeed, and being a champion for the field of cybersecurity.
In 2021 Josh was inducted into the Infosec Hall of Fame in recognition of his professional achievements and contributions to the cybersecurity industry. Josh also volunteers his time as an industry thought leader for the ISACA Emerging Trends Working Group by contributing articles and sharing insights for media inquiries and interviews. Josh holds multiple globally recognized certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Innovation Executive (CIE). In 2020, Josh was recognized by ISACA for helping CISM surpass 50,000 certification-holders.
Josh obtained his Associate in Applied Science degree from Western Technical College, specializing in Networking, and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Kaplan University. In his spare time, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, Becky, and their two daughters. Whenever Josh and his family get the chance, they enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and getting together with friends and family. Josh and his family also volunteer their time in the community by engaging in a Bible ministry and education program and supporting their local congregation in Winona, MN.
